IPL 2023 is coming. Rishabh Pant is one of the most exciting young prospects in Indian cricket. Here are 10 reasons why he is destined for greatness.
Rishabh Pant is only 20 years old and already has a first-class century to his name.
He made his Test debut against England in 2018 and scored a quickfire half-century.
Pant first came to prominence when he was just 17 years old, making his Ranji Trophy debut for Delhi against Jharkhand. A precocious talent, he made an immediate impact by scoring a century in just his second game. He followed that up with another century in the quarter-finals and was Jerusalem’s leading run-scorer in the tournament.
In 2019, he became the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a Test century in Australia.
Rishabh Pant has also been compared to MS Dhoni for his calmness under pressure and ability to finish matches with big hits.
Since then, Pant has gone from strength to strength. He made his India Under-19 debut in 2016 and captained the team at the Under-19 World Cup in 2017. He made his Indian Premier League debut for Delhi Daredevils in 2018 and scored a brilliant century against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
